It could be said that the 83 land masses of the Vanuatu chain are natural Fish
Aggregation Devices (FADs). Situated on the south western rim of the fish rich
Coral Sea, the islands are perfectly located in the South Pacific to attract
all the major sport fishing species. But that's not to say things can't be
helped along a little more...
Kahuna Charters and South Pacific Anglers have been active participants in a
scheme that has placed Fish Aggregation Devices (FADs) on the doorstep of
Vanuatu's capital Port Vila. The FADs have attracted increased numbers of
species including marlin, wahoo, mahi mahi, yellowfin and skip jack tuna,
assuring truly world class sport and game fishing within easy reach of the
local game fishing fleet.
Although our Port Vila-based trips encompass many areas where artificial FADs
are not required, the strategic positioning of the new Vila FADs has added
another great dimension to an already superb fishery.
